Details
Telegram is a cross-platform instant messenger, free to use with no subscription threshold, on phones, desktops and the web. Its signatures are very large groups (up to a few hundred thousand members), subscribable broadcast channels and generous single-file transfer limits, which is why open-source projects, news outlets and hobby communities use it for announcements and distribution; chat history syncs through the cloud, so switching devices loses nothing. The honest version on ads and pricing: personal chats carry no ads, but channels you subscribe to may show the platform's own sponsored posts, and a paid Premium tier sells higher limits and extras — skipping it costs you nothing day to day. Listing notes: public groups and channels are run by their own operators; quality varies and scams and traffic-farming are common, so vet before you join. Registration requires a phone number.
Who it's for
People joining open-source project, news and hobby communities; anyone wanting a messenger with cloud sync and roomy file transfers.
18btc Crypto Tools Navigator · Our Take
“Listing notes: it works best as a reading-and-announcements tool with messaging attached — subscribe to channels for updates and join official groups for notices. Ignore strangers DMing investment or money-making groups; officials never message you first.”
