Details

Google's open font library holds about 1,959 families in its official metadata (checked November 2026), spanning many scripts; for Chinese it mainly carries the Noto family — Google's version of Source Han Sans and Source Han Serif. The official FAQ states that all fonts in the library are open source and free, including for commercial projects and products you sell. Licensing is marked per font: most are under the SIL Open Font License (OFL), a few under Apache or the Ubuntu Font License. Use them by downloading the font files for local install, or embed them in web pages through the official API.

Who it's for

Designers, developers and anyone making graphics or videos who needs free fonts with a clearly stated commercial-use licence.

18btc Crypto Tools Navigator · Our Take

“The first stop for font compliance: the licence is stated by Google itself, commercial use is free, and both download and web embedding are easy. The trade-off is a mostly utilitarian catalogue — Chinese coverage is essentially the Noto/Source Han line, with almost no calligraphy or display faces.”
