Details
Ghostfolio is an open-source personal wealth management app (AGPL-3.0, about 9.6k GitHub stars, checked 2026-11-04, with a fresh release on 2026-11-02). It puts stocks, ETFs, bonds, crypto, precious metals and cash on one dashboard: multiple accounts and currencies, allocation breakdowns, benchmark comparisons, a FIRE calculator, and import/export. Its defining design choice is no brokerage linking — positions are entered by hand, CSV import or API, never through a third-party aggregator, so your data stays on your own server. The self-hosted version is free and runs on Docker (app plus PostgreSQL and Redis); if you hate ops, the official cloud version (ghostfol.io) offers paid hosting and professional data providers — check its site for current tiers. Plainly stated: it is a bookkeeping and visualisation tool, not investment advice, and market data comes from public sources, configured by you in the self-hosted version.
Who it's for
Investors holding stocks, ETFs and crypto at once who want one net-worth view without handing holdings data to a third-party aggregator.
18btc Crypto Tools Navigator · Our Take
“Self-hosting is the whole point — holdings data should never pass through someone else’s hands. The price is honest too: you run the Docker stack and your own backups; if that sounds like a chore, the official cloud version exists for exactly that reason.”
