PixelFX
A pixel game effects library: 244 code-generated fire, ice and lightning effects to preview live and export.
Visit tool →Details
Originally named Pixelfx, it is an open-source pixel effects library released on GitHub on 2026-10-30 (MIT licence, ~3,100 stars): all 244 game effects are generated live by code, not pre-rendered images or video clips. Effects are organised into around 20 categories — fire, explosions, water, ice, lightning, sci-fi, melee, impacts, projectiles, arcane magic, weather, UI, pickups and more. Every effect plays live in the online gallery, can be recoloured and mirrored, exported as sprite sheets for any game engine, or dropped straight into a browser game; the repo also ships a Claude Code skill for generating new effects the same way. Listing note: this is a resource for game development and pixel art, not a video-editing effects tool — no category here fits it exactly, and Video & Entertainment is simply the closest one.
Who it's for
Developers and artists making pixel-art or indie games, and anyone building a browser game who wants ready-made fire, lightning and impact effects instead of hand-drawing every frame.

“Listing notes: open the gallery and all 244 effects play right there — recolouring, mirroring and sprite-sheet export are all straightforward, and because everything is code, parameters are easy to tweak. One more time: this is a game-development resource, not a short-video effects pack.”
